Aachen/Mainz, 20.06.2008: The German public television broadcaster 3sat dedicates the latest subject „voice control“ a program, which will be broadcasted on Sunday. Detlev Artelt, publisher of the voice compass, has been invited as well-known expert on this subject to this program, to pass his practical know-how and his project experiences to the viewers.

In an interview he talks about advantages, utility and safety of personal identification by voice entry (speaker verification) and about new possibilities, which associate with this. Further on the editors cast a glance behind the curtain of current speech applications, which simplifies the costumer service by speech automation. Many times the solutions are exposed to serious prejudices and have to fight for the acceptance of the users. Another important aspect is, that the multitude of the available solutions are qualitatively very different. It is time for a critical consideration, which discloses, how and how good voice control actually works.
